13 days old and they are starting to open their eyes!

Now the fun begins! Once the puppies open their eyes, their activity level increases daily. They start to walk around more and they begin to play with their siblings. This is a very fun time period because it just amazing how much they develop!

9 Days Old!

The pups are doing fantastic and growing so fast! Louie and Roxie are the two largest and both have very soft black coats. I love to kiss the little cheeks of the puppies right now...! They are just so darn cute!
They all got their toenails clipped today. They are like little needles for poor Maggie when they are nursing and kneading on her skin. Maggie never complains, of course. I will clip their nails every week or so. It gets more challenging as they get bigger because they are so wiggly!
I am excited to have them open their eyes soon. It is a lot of fun to be able to look into their little eyes. They will start playing with each other as soon as they open their eyes. Very, very cute...

One Week Old!

The puppies are one week old already and are doing fantastic! Maggie is a great mother and she keeps them very clean and well-fed. Their eyes will be opening in a week or so and they will start to play with each other. That is a very fun time to watch them! It is so amazing to me how fast they develop at that time. They will be starting on puppy kibble mush at about 2.5 weeks of age. Their coats will start to fluff out and I will be able to begin to see how the coats are going to be as adults. Their little personalities start developing and I can see who are the noisy ones and who are the quieter ones! They will be wibbly-wobbly for a while, but they will be able to get around well over the next few weeks.
