Juno's pregnancy is confirmed by ultrasound!

I took Juno into the vet for an ultrasound and we have babies growing! We can't tell at this point in the pregnancy how many we are having, but we saw several little sacs and we saw heartbeats, too! I will get an xray when Juno is about 58 days pregnant to see how many babies we will be having. She is about 26 days pregnant right now and her due date is when she is 63 days pregnant. I can't wait!

Juno is in heat!
Sweet, beautiful Juno recently finished all of her genetic testing and passed with flying colors! She decided to come into heat yesterday so we are planning on breeding her to a parti boy from Pine Lodge Labradoodles. If all goes well, she would be due at the end of August and the puppies would be ready for new homes mid to late October. These will be beautiful parti labradoodles that should all have great coats! We should have brown and white and possibly red and white parti pups.
Stella has been here with me this week and she is a total sweetheart! She had her CERF eye exam today and has perfect eyes. She is going in for her OFA hip and elbow xrays tomorrow. Two of her sisters have been tested already and they both have OFA Good hips and normal elbows. Hopefully beautiful Stella will follow in their footsteps!
After Juno is bred, I will get an ultrasound about 25 days after her first breeding to confirm the pregnancy. Her guardian mom, Cherie, is just as excited as I am for these babies! She even has names picked out already for the babies!

It is awfully quiet around here...
It is very quiet around here without little puppies. Maggie and Lucy and Katie and I hang out together during the day. Brittany is coming home from college tomorrow and Briana has one more week of school. This is my last quiet morning to myself for several months...!
I took Juno in for her CERF eye exam yesterday and for her OFA heart evaluation. She passed both with flying colors! She has now passed all of the required testing to be a breeding dog! She is a gorgeous dog...her coat is very dark brown and white and so very soft. She is a very sweet dog. Cherie, her guardian mom, takes fabulous care of Juno and Kali.
I am waiting for hip and elbow test results for Teko and Maile. They were tested a couple of weeks ago so I should be getting the results any day from OFA and PennHip. Fingers crossed...both of these puppies are gorgeous and so, so sweet!
Stella, Kali's full sister from last October's litter, is staying with me next week while her guardian family is out of town. I am going to get her hips and eyes tested while she is here. She is a beautiful chocolate girl who is very much loved by her family.
One of puppy owners from Maggie and Jet's litter is coming with her girl, Tatum, today to visit! It will be fun to see how Tatum has grown and developed.
CocoBella and Juno should be coming into heat this summer so I will post information as soon as they are! I can't wait for more puppies...I miss having them around!

The puppies are all in their new homes...
Ted is on his way to NYC right now. I got up at 4 AM to get him to the airport by 5. We got very attached to sweet Ted...most of the time the pups are in their new homes by 8 weeks, but Ted got to stay with us until 10 weeks of age. My daughter, Briana, insisted I wake her at 4 to say goodbye to him...again. He is not the perfect labradoodle as far as his coat goes, but he has to be one of the sweetest puppies we have ever had. I will feel relieved when his new family calls to say he is in their arms.
I cleaned up the puppy room and am doing the last of the puppy laundry. We do 6 loads of laundry a day when the puppies are growing over the weeks. The expens are back in their boxes and the paperwork is filed away. I feel somewhat melancholy today. I am free of the puppy responsibility for awhile, but I feel kind-of sad with the quiet house. The three big dogs (Maggie, Lucy, and Katie) will add their usual noise when the doorbell rings or the UPS truck goes by, but it is the noise we are all used to on a daily basis. I will miss the little barks of the little babies and their cute antics...
The house will smell better, though...! Even though I clean the puppy room frequently, there is a lingering odor of puppies that is impossible to fully rid. It does not bother me and i am used to it, but my kids remind me that it "smells like puppies in here"...
It is part of the deal of being a dog breeder. We like to have the puppies close by and that is one of the minor consequences. Puppy poop happens...!
I am looking forward to the fall when we have new puppies coming. Lani and Indy will be having F1 English goldendoodles, Juno will have some multigen. parti labradoodles, and CocoBella will have some solid and parti labradoodles. These three litters will all be standard in size.
In the meantime, I will enjoy my free time by working in the yard, hanging out with friends and family, and playing with my dogs. I have a great life...
